A local man was left hungry and confused after accidently bringing his three year old’s lunch to work. Both lunches had been prepared earlier that morning in brown paper bags that, on further inspection were revealed to be mislabeled by the mans’ wife.
The man upon discovering the error in the crowded lunch room was said to be “clearly angry and humiliated” but refused to see the funny side and acknowledge the baby carrots, small chip packet and dinosaur biscuits were a mistake.
One source was quoted as saying it was “pretty obvious what had happened, but he didn’t want to lose face in front of everyone, especially some of the younger women”. The man “doubled down” on the tiny lunch according to witnesses. “He was trying to play the whole thing off as deliberate, calorie restriction or something”, said Mitch a senior-medium assistant exec manager.
Witnesses also noted that the man looked to be trying to mask the scale of the minute servings by transferring them onto a saucer rather than using a regular sized plate. Things allegedly came to a head, when a colleague tried to lighten the mood by offering to trade some batman cards in exchange for the dinosaur biscuits. That’s when the man “completely lost it and bolted”. He returned later having calmed down after riding the two story lift for a few hours.
Meanwhile, three year old Jimmy was seen picking the fillings out of a large six inch bread role, initially intended for his father. The preschooler was seen separating the ham, cheese, tomato, gherkins and egg from the roll and organizing them into so called “teams”. The $12 rye wheat role itself was discarded, but was later located at the bottom of Jimmy’s bag stuffed with 47 organic non-scented, non-artificial coloured crayons. A discovery, Jimmy declined to have any knowledge of.
The wife has claimed the lunch mix up was “completely accidental”.
However, neighbors have reported hearing shouting the night before the alleged incident and seeing the man’s wife keying her husband’s car on the morning of the mix up.
The family have declined to comment, but have confirmed they’ve “returned the crayons” to the preschool.
